Celebrate Midsummer in Azeroth (PC)
Blizzard kicks off a special World of Warcraft event.
By Li C. Kuo | June 21, 2006

Right now bonfires are burning all over the world of Azeroth. Adventurers can approach the Flamekeepers of these fires for dangerous quests. This is all part of the Midsummer Fire Festival, a special summertime event that starts today and ends July 5. During this time there will be ribbon poles placed at every festival camp. These decorative poles will be near every bonfire. You'll be able to dance around these poles and hold one of the many multicolored ribbons attached to it. In return for your dance, you'll get extra resistance to fire.

The bonfires have special properties that can rid your character of ailments, and if you find special burning blossoms and toss them into one of these flames, you'll get a special treat. When the festival ends there will be a huge fireworks show courtesy of the goblins. For full details of the WoW Midsummer Fire Festival, just head over to the official World of Warcraft website.
