WoW Surpasses 2 Million (PC)
With the introduction of the new PvP Battlegrounds, WoW's audience continues to grow.

Blizzard announced today that World of Warcraft has achieved over two million subscribers worldwide.

In addition to the milestone, Blizzard has launched the player vs. player system and the first two battlegrounds, Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. The new battlegrounds are said to offer fast paced combat and new unique rewards.
"World of Warcraft continues to surpass all expectations as gamers around the world embrace it with overwhelming support," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We want to thank our players for their incredible response, and we promise to continue supporting World of Warcraft with more updates and content. The new Battlegrounds are just the beginning of greater enhancements to come."
With over two million subscribers, World of Warcraft is currently the largest MMO in North America and Europe. Blizzard expects greater growth with the recent launch in China, who had a peak concurrency of over 500,000 players during the open beta testing.

With launches in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, Blizzard continues to develop new content to keep the exciting for new and already existing players. With Battlegrounds introduced, Blizzard hopes to prove that it is committed to maintaining the most dynamic title in the MMO genre.
